FirstCall answers phone calls for other businesses. So we handle what people say when they ring one, which can be a flooded basement, a legal problem, or their home address. This page says exactly what happens to it, in plain English.

What's recorded on a call

  • The caller's phone number, as supplied by the phone network.
  • A transcript of what was said, and a written summary of the job, together with anything the caller gave us - a name, a service address, what's wrong.
  • Which business number was dialled, when the call started, and how long it lasted.

The caller is told they are speaking to an automated assistant in the first sentence of the call, before any of this is collected.

Who it goes to

The business that was called. That's the point of the service: a summary and the transcript reach the owner by email within minutes so somebody can call back.

Three companies process it on our behalf, and no others:

  • Telnyx carries the call, transcribes it, and runs the assistant that speaks.
  • Cloudflare stores the call records and runs the service.
  • Resend delivers the summary email to the business owner.

We do not sell call data, we do not sell leads, and we never share one business's callers with another business - including with another customer of ours in the same line of work and the same town.

Text messages

None are sent. FirstCall does not text your callers, does not ask them for permission to text them, and does not mention texting on a call. If that changes, this page will say so before it happens.

Who owns it

The business does. Contacts, transcripts and call records belong to the business whose phone was answered. If they stop using FirstCall, they can take the records with them and ask us to delete our copies.

How long it's kept

Call records are kept for as long as the business is a customer, because a returning caller being recognised depends on them. On request, we delete records for a specific call, a specific caller, or an entire account.

If you were the caller

You phoned a business and our assistant answered for them. Ask us what we hold about your call and we'll tell you; ask us to delete it and we will, unless the business needs it for work you asked them to do. Email support@accelra.io with the number you called from and roughly when.

Contact

FirstCall is built by Accelra. Questions about any of this go to support@accelra.io and are answered by a person.
