Text messages
Program terms, last updated 21 October 2026
FirstCall answers the phone for businesses. Sometimes it texts the person who called, and only them. This page is the whole of the program: who gets a text, what it says, what was said before asking, and how to stop.
Who sends them
FirstCall, a product of Accelra Technologies Inc. Messages are signed “FirstCall” and come from the number the business uses with FirstCall. The two demonstration lines on this site are the exception: they were registered under the company name and sign their texts “Accelra”. No message is ever sent to someone who did not phone that number first.
How you agree
Out loud, on the call you placed. The assistant says in its first sentence that it is automated. On a line that takes orders it reads your order back with the total and asks whether you will pay at the counter or by phone. Near the end of the call it asks one question:
“Can I text you a confirmation on this number?”
If you say no, or anything other than a clear yes, nothing is sent and the question is not asked again. If you say yes, the assistant reads this before the call ends:
“Thanks. By agreeing you'll get text messages from FirstCall about this enquiry. Message frequency varies, standard message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.”
On a line that takes orders the disclosure is: “Thanks. By agreeing you'll get text messages from FirstCall about this order, including a secure payment link if you chose to pay by phone. Message frequency varies, standard message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.” If you say no and had chosen to pay by phone, you pay at the counter instead.
What you get
- One confirmation of what you told us on the call, so you can reply to add or correct anything. A person at the business reads replies.
- On a line that takes orders, a confirmation of the order, updates about that order (a change you asked for, ready for pickup, out for delivery) and, if you chose to pay by phone, one link to a checkout page run by the business's own payment processor. The link works once. Nobody at FirstCall or the business sees your card; neither the assistant nor any text ever asks for card details.
Examples of what a message looks like:
- FirstCall: thanks for calling. We have your enquiry and the details you gave us, and someone will call you back with a quote. Reply to this message to add or correct anything. Msg freq varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
- FirstCall: thanks for your order. 1 large pepperoni pizza and 1 garlic bread, pickup at 6:30 PM, $24.48 at the counter. Reply to this message to change anything. Msg freq varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
- FirstCall: your order is $24.48. Pay securely here: [link]. The link works once. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
- FirstCall: your order is ready for pickup. Ask for the name on the order at the counter. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
No marketing, no promotions, no reminders, nothing you did not ask about on the call.
How often, and what it costs
Message frequency varies: usually one message per call, one to three on an order. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. FirstCall does not charge you for texts.
How to stop, and how to get help
Reply STOP to any message. It is honoured immediately and permanently, and you get one confirmation that you are unsubscribed: “FirstCall: you are unsubscribed and will receive no further messages. Reply START to resume.” Reply HELP for help: “FirstCall: we send confirmations for calls you make to us. For help contact support@bookfirstcall.com or https://bookfirstcall.com. Reply STOP to opt out.” STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT all stop messages; HELP and INFO both get help; START and YES resume.
